Un-sung Artist of the week: SOLANGE

There are so many artists that are new, undiscovered, and just plain uncelebrated. They offer their art that is eclectic; inspiring, multi-faceted, refreshing, and sui generis…..like Solange Knowles.

Solange came on the scene at the age of sixteen, releasing her first album “Solo Star,” which began her artistic career.  Since then, Solange has excelled as a recording artist, actress, model, dancer, and dedicated mother.  She most recently released her sophomore album, “Sol-Angel and The Hadley St.Dreams,” in 2008.

Solange is celebrated this week because of her ability and initiative to defy mainstream music. Her most recent album is a soulful reflection of love, times past, and futuristic euphoria. As a young woman who perhaps  has experienced a lifetime already, an individual may learn a thing or two from her lyrics. Shout out to Solange for giving life through music that is NEVERHEARDOF(unconventional)….you are astounding and colossal.
